about

Adamantine – song 6 on the Tones of Red album was recorded end 2012 and is the newest of the 13 songs.

The song is about the survival of integrity in a society increasingly pressured by commercial culture, mainstream tradition, make believe and thoughtless collective influence. Adamantine refers to "unbreakable opinion", more specifically (in the context of the song) the importance of individuality and its stand against conformity - one of the most abused factors in any group or society and possibly the most fragile of human characteristics. A characteristic far more creative and original in its inverse form.

The song plays an intimate role in what inspired the Tones of Red album cover illustration - the dance of the scavengers, a dance around the food chain. Based on wildlife photography, Jackal and vulture are fighting as master-less members over the fallen remnants of the system, feeding of the metaphorical left-overs of those that were free and so had to die. Once digested, they re-appear as a fertilised chance of a new, more powerful form of freedom in individualism, ready to stand against the artificial reinforcement of oppressive opinion, over and over again. The dance of the scavengers symbolises the need to believe yourself first, before you believe anything else – inviting you to feed the imprisoned mind to their hungry mouths. lyrics

Adamantine

Romantic and in scars,
A lover of the stars,
Was never meant to simulate.
Perfection of my state,
Boxed with a pretty gate,
Don't try to change my mind no more.

You never care to speak,
Yet every time we meet,
You breathe my lungs inside of you.
Your voice is digital,
My ears are critical,
I'm not ok with this no more.

Take my deep blue soul it’s yours,
Everlasting overdose,
I don’t want it anymore.
Take my deep blue soul its free,
It no longer controls me,
I dont need it anymore.

Believe in systemised,
Religion compromised,
Was never meant to sacrifice.
The circuitry of fate,
The devil's god debate,
So far beyond apologies.

Romantic and in scars,
A lover of the stars,
Never ending love affair.
Will i see you again,
Escape the greed of men,
I'm not afraid of you no more.

Take my deep blue soul it’s yours,
Everlasting overdose,
I don’t want it anymore.
Take my deep blue soul it’s yours,
Everlasting overdose,
I don’t want it anymore.
